Monday, May 14, District Four - 7PM - Lions Club Drive Community Center, 620 Lions Club Drive, Mableton - Cobb Chairman Tim Lee's town hall meeting

May 22 - TCACID monthly meeting

May 24 - Groundbreaking 10 a.m. - Final Chapter Begins on 6 mile Noonday Creek Trail - 2841 George Busbee Parkway, NW, Kennesaw [just south of Garden Ridge]

May 24 - From 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. at Kennesaw State University Continuing Education Center, 3333 Busbee Dr. Kennesaw, GA 30144, the Cobb County Department of Transportation will hold a public information OPEN HOUSE for the Busbee Drive/Frey Road Connector (a/k/a Skip Spann Connector).

The project consists of a new roadway and bridge over I-75 parallel to and north of Chastain Road to relieve congestion on Chastain Road.

The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public with an opportunity to view the proposed improvements and to express their interest and concerns about the proposed project. The public is invited to attend anytime during these hours to review the proposed plans for this project. There will be no formal presentation.

Written statements will be accepted concerning this project until June 7, 2012. All comments will be presented to the Cobb County Board of Commissioners for their consideration regarding this project.

July 31 - the day we'll know whether Georgia voters approved a penny sales tax to fund transportation improvements all over the state. There's a lot riding on the outcome of this vote in terms of attracting new enterprise and breaking out of commuter gridlock.

August 20 - Marks the beginning of the third-annual Georgia Telework Week, an event to celebrate the successes of employers and commuters who know the best commute is the one from the bedroom to the home office.

August 28 - TCACID monthly meeting

September 25 - TCACID monthly meeting

October 23 - TCACID monthly meeting

November - Slated for early-November is the 12th installment of The Clean Air Campaign's PACE Awards event, recognizing the best commute options programs in Georgia. Stay tuned for more details.
